Pathway-to-PhD Programs
These are typically one- or two-year programs that are designed to give you a leg-up when applying to PhD programs and typically are geared toward students from underrepresented backgrounds. The work is similar to that of the post-bac research jobs below, but they might also include some additional courses, professional development, and advising. The work load will therefore be much higher than that of the positions listed under the Job Boards heading.
Columbia University Bridge to the PhD Program in STEM (includes Psychology)
Brown University Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program
Boston University Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program
University of Pittsburg Bridge Post-Bac Program
Minnesota Inclusive Neuroscience Development Scholars Program
Job Boards
Many of these jobs are designed for students who are planning on taking a gap year or two before pursuing a graduate degree. They are often limited to a one or two year contract, though some can be renewed for much longer.

Most large universities and just about every major hospital system (especially if it's connected to a university) do a lot of research. Hospitals and medical schools are often looking for people to work in Clinical Research, which is a specific type of research that takes place in a clinical setting and is usually overseen by the FDA (e.g. studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of medications or medical devices). Some of these positions will require nursing or phlebotomy training, but many do not. These positions are typically considered to be permanent, though they are also great options if you're looking for a research job during a gap year or two.
