How to declare a Psychology major or minor
Step 1: Meet with a Psychology faculty member. The purpose of this meeting is for you to discuss your goals and interests related to psychology. You and your psychology advisor will work together to plan out which courses you should plan to take and when.
Step 2: Fill out the major/minor declaration form. You can fill out a physical form or do it electronically. Even if you do the form electronically, we recommend writing it out physically during your advising meeting so that you remember which classes you need to include in the electronic form.
Step 3: Submit the form to the registrar's office. If you are using the physical form, you need to have it signed by the chair of the department (Dr. Skip Dine Young) before submitting. The electronic form will automatically be sent to the chair for approval after you submit it.
Step 4: Update your previous advisor(s). If you were declaring a minor or a second major, make sure your previous advisor knows that you have declared a Psychology major/minor.
